Kanjooparambil Family is an ancient traditional Christian family having a rich heritage. It has its roots in Kudamaloor in Kerala, the holy birthplace of our beloved, most venerated Saint “Sister Alphonsa”. The family had shifted slowly to Kuttanadu, for trade and development and settled in Chennankary and in other surrounding villages. When the trade and business flourished, the senior family members shifted their activity to Agriculture in punchapadams. Slowly agriculture become the main activity of the family members and they flourished in agriculture.

Kanjooparambil family was gifted with a number of veteran eminent and efficient priests and nuns, who had dedicated their lives for the emancipation of the poor and for the overall development of the society. Still now the same enthusiasm is shown by the youngsters (Priests and nuns). The family members were staunch believers of Christianity and they stayed with Catholic Church, right from the beginning. They have supported and worked harmoniously with the Catholic Church, even in its most difficult days, which is remarkably commented in the history of the catholic church of Kerala (Central Travancore).

The Kanjooparambil family’s elders were very generous in donating landed properties and other assets to catholic churches in Kerala(Chennamkary church,Pullangady church,Thottuvathala church,Muhamma church,Purakkadu palli,Thekkekkara palli, and Amburi palli). They were instrumental in the establishment of churches like Nazareth, Nedumudy CSI church and Nedumudy latin church. With the intention of imparting primary education to the children of less previlaged classes of the society, in 1951 Thomas Antony ,Kanjooparambil had founded a primary school at Attuvathala ,known as Kanjooparambil L P School. This school along with 50 cents of land was later given to state government with out accepting any compensation.

The Kanjooparambil family had now grown up to more than 1000 units, spread throughout the world. The rich tradition and unique strength of the family can easily be visible through the humanitarian and leadership qualities of the younger generation. No doubt, Kanjooparambil family has shown it’s commentable involvement in all aspects of life, let it be politics, in education, in religious activities or in social activities, and has become an integral part of human history/life. A genuine attempt is done through this work ,for carrying forward the rich heritage and tradition of our family to our youngsters.
